Eleanor ‘Ellie’ Brimmer Named 2023 USDF Volunteer of the Year
Lexington, KY (October 31, 2023) – The United States Dressage Federation™ (USDF) extends its sincerest congratulations to Eleanor 'Ellie' Brimmer for being named 2023 USDF Volunteer of the Year. As a passionate and
long-time member, hailing from the great state of Florida, Ellie’s dedication to the sport and her volunteerism is exemplified by the way she schedules her life around shows, not the other way around, in order to provide any support needed for the success of the events. At the White Fences Equestrian Center alone, Ellie has logged upwards of 80 hours each year for the past five years or more, further solidifying her exemplary volunteer standard and deservedness of this recognition.
In her nomination, Adam Pollak shared, “Ellie reaches out ahead of time, before being asked, to see if her help is needed. She is knowledgeable, and out there, rain or shine, willing to help. I don’t know the full involvement of Ellie at other horse shows, but her contributions to the White Fences shows, her help in furthering para-dressage, and her new position as an Athlete Representative, all merit her nomination.”
As this year’s honoree, Ellie’s contributions and efforts will be recognized at the Salute Gala & Annual Awards Banquet, held Saturday night of the 2023 Adequan®/USDF Annual Convention, being held in Omaha. During the event, Ellie will be presented with a perpetual trophy, established by Lisa Gorretta, which is on permanent display in the Roemer Foundation/USDF Hall of Fame, as she is recognized alongside other dignitaries like 2023’s Youth Volunteer of the Year, Members of Distinction, and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. The night will also feature the presentation of USDF Rider and Breeder of Distinction Awards, as well as the Adequan®/USDF Year-End and All-Breeds Awards.
